Common use of Technical Competencies Clause in Contracts

Technical Competencies. Each department will determine the technical competencies required to maintain skills on the job and develop a process to ensure that each casual employee remains technically competent. Re-orientation to department processes may be necessary in areas where technical expertise, knowledge of equipment, products and use are essential to safe patient care. If an employee does not remain technically competent, the employee shall not be allowed to work until they are deemed competent and the department must assess the use of casuals in those areas.
