Team Policies. The following guidelines are to be strictly observed by Athlete during all competitions, training camps, USAC Training Center programs, seminars, or other USA Climbing designated activities and functions: • Athlete is subject to a curfew of 11:00 p.m. unless otherwise directed by High Performance Staff. • Legal use of alcohol is permitted according to the laws of the United States. • Athletes should be aware of applicable National/area laws, including but not limited to, substance use. • An athlete, of legal age according to the laws of the United States, shall refrain from the consumption of alcohol within 48 hours in advance of and the duration of a training camp or Athlete’s individual competition. A request to refrain from alcohol may be enacted preceding or during other USA Climbing designated activities and functions at the discretion of the High Performance Staff. During the consumption of alcohol, Athlete shall uphold the USA Climbing Code of Conduct as defined in Addendum B. • Family, friends, personal coaches, or other visitors are not permitted to be in Team members’ rooms or the competition areas except in cases that have been approved by USA Climbing High Performance Staff. • Only National Team coaches, staff, and athletes are permitted at team meetings, team meals, training sessions and competitions. Visitors are welcome to attend competitions and support the National Team from designated spectator areas. • If Team members wish to spend any team designated free time with family or friends, approval from the Head Coach or Team Manager is needed, as meals, transportation and other activities may have already been planned and paid for. • Athletes shall sleep in the room assigned to them by High Performance Staff, except in cases that have been approved by USA Climbing. • Only National Team coaches, staff, or other National Team members shall be permitted to warm up athletes during competitions.

In the event Athlete violates any team rules set out below, USATKD may, in its sole discretion, dismiss Athlete from the team, revoke the Athlete’s credentials, and/or terminate or receive any financial support Athlete would otherwise be entitled to receive. • Athlete is subject to a 10:00 P.M. curfew, unless changed by National Team Staff • Communication between staff and athletes must only occur via methods approved by USA Taekwondo • Athletes must arrive on time to training unless approved by USA Taekwondo Staff members in advance • Absolutely no alcohol is permitted • Absolutely no performance-enhancing drugs or stimulants or recreational drugs are permitted • Hazing and/or sexual harassment of any nature are not permitted in any form or fashion • Neither family, friends, personal coaches nor other visitors are permitted to linger on the team floor or be in team members’ room or the competition areas • Only national team coaches, staff, and athletes are permitted at team meetings, team meals, and training sessions • If team members wish to spend any team designated free time with family or friends, they need to seek approval from the Head of Team or National Team Coach, as meals, transportation and other activities may have already been planned and paid for • Athletes shall sleep in the room assigned to them by National Team Staff • Athletes are not permitted in teammates’ hotel or dorm rooms of the opposite gender • Only national team coaches, staff, or other national team members shall be permitted to warm up athletes during competitions.
Team Policies. 1. Always stress the importance that academics play in player’s future life. Education should at all times come first and be most important.
2. Make sure parents have a schedule in advance.
3. Equipment buildings and training kits are off limits unless a coach gives you permission.
4. Athletes DO NOT get special treatment-So you should NOT expect any.
5. Neatness in your appearance is important. No jewelry is to be worn during practice or games, unless a medical alert tag is worn.
6. Type of players we want: Players who want to learn to play football, who show respect for each other and their coaches, care enough to help out when needed. Commitment, Dedication and Willingness to excel are important.
7. Coach Player Relationship: We care about each of you, want to teach you the game and hopefully have a fun, successful season. We are always available to help, so if you have questions or need help please ask.

Team Policies. To supplement the conditions outlined in this handbook, a coach may choose to develop his/her own rules. The team rules specific to that sport may be more stringent than the policies set forth in the student-athlete handbook but NOT less stringent.
