Common use of Teaching Materials Clause in Contracts

Teaching Materials. The District recognizes that appropriate teaching materials, library reference facilities, maps and globes, laboratory equipment, audio-visual equipment, art supplies, athletic equipment, current periodicals, standard tests and questionnaires, and similar materials are the tools of the teaching profession. Further, that efforts shall be continued to seek and use textbooks and supplementary reading materials which contain the contribution of minority groups and women to the history, scientific and social development of the United States. The parties will confer from time to time for the purpose of improving the selection and use of such educational tools, and the Board agrees to act on the recommendations made by its representatives and the Association. The District agrees to keep the schools reasonably equipped and maintained.
