Teacher Participation. The Employer will assist employees' participation in health promotion and health education programs. Health promotion and health education programs that have been endorsed by the Employer (Minnesota Management & Budget) will be considered to be non-assigned job-related training pursuant to Administrative Procedure 21. Approval for this training is at the discretion of the Appointing Authority and is contingent upon meeting staffing needs in the employee's absence and the availability of funds. Teachers are eligible for release time, tuition reimbursement, or a pro rata combination of both. Teachers may be reimbursed for up to one hundred (100) percent of tuition or registration costs upon successful completion of the program. Teachers may be granted release time, including the travel time, in lieu of reimbursement.
Teacher Participation. The District shall take no reprisals against any teacher or the Association for legitimate participation in the Grievance Procedure pursuant to the provisions of this Article. In the event that the teacher is required to be absent from work in order to participate in a grievance hearing as a grievant, witness, Association representative, or other party in interest, the teacher shall be permitted to do so without loss of compensation so long as the Association President has advised the Superintendent of the need for leave not less than twenty-four (24) hours prior to the hearing.
Teacher Participation. Attendance at school programs is expected to reflect the individual teacher’s acceptance of professional responsibilities. Administrators may require attendance at special programs, such as musicals, elementary programs, etc.

The negotiating team of the REA agrees to meet with the negotiating team appointed by the Board when mutually convenient for the purpose of discussion and to seek satisfactory agreements on salary and other negotiable items. The REA negotiation team will consist of three representatives from the Mt. Pleasant School District certified personnel.

Teachers involved in this process shall participate in recruiting (keeping in mind District’s strategic planning goal of employing a staff which directly reflects the community’s diversity through our goal of recruiting highly qualified applicants from under-represented groups), gathering input from staff, participating in interviews, and making recommendations to the Superintendent.
Teacher Participation. The parties agree that employee participation on district and building level committees is important. Faculty members who are expected to represent their colleagues on District or building level committees shall be selected for such representation cooperatively by the appropriate administrator and appropriate faculty members. It shall be understood that an employee so selected to represent employees shall be expected to communicate with the employees represented. Curriculum adoption shall be in accordance with RCW 28A.320.230.
Teacher Participation. The Parties agree that participatory leadership through workplace collaboration is an essential practice in excellent schools. As the School has operated in the past, the Employer and the Union are committed to ensuring participation in discussions that positively impact the students and learning community.
Teacher Participation. Current Kindergarten teachers will remain in their present positions, if available at their sites. Should a change to Full Day Kindergarten occur at the site, current Kindergarten teachers have first rights to the assignments. Should the Kindergarten teacher choose not to accept the change of assignment, they will be placed on the Involuntary Transfer list in order of seniority. In the event that an AM/PM class becomes open before school starts, the current AM/PM teacher will have first rights to the assignment.
Teacher Participation. Members of the Council shall be relieved of specific activity assignments in order to perform Advisory Council duties but also may be called upon for such activity assignments according to the flexibility requirements of the school district.
Teacher Participation. The CEA agrees that the educational process would benefit from teacher participation in the affairs of the various organizations within this school district.
