Teacher Participation. The Employer will assist employees' participation in health promotion and health education programs. Health promotion and health education programs that have been endorsed by the Employer (Minnesota Management & Budget) will be considered to be non-assigned job-related training pursuant to Administrative Procedure 21. Approval for this training is at the discretion of the Appointing Authority and is contingent upon meeting staffing needs in the employee's absence and the availability of funds. Teachers are eligible for release time, tuition reimbursement, or a pro rata combination of both. Teachers may be reimbursed for up to one hundred (100) percent of tuition or registration costs upon successful completion of the program. Teachers may be granted release time, including the travel time, in lieu of reimbursement.

Teacher Participation. The District shall take no reprisals against any teacher or the Association for legitimate participation in the Grievance Procedure pursuant to the provisions of this Article. In the event that the teacher is required to be absent from work in order to participate in a grievance hearing as a grievant, witness, Association representative, or other party in interest, the teacher shall be permitted to do so without loss of compensation so long as the Association President has advised the Superintendent of the need for leave not less than twenty-four (24) hours prior to the hearing.

Teacher Participation. Current Kindergarten teachers will remain in their present positions, if available at their sites. Should a change to Full Day Kindergarten occur at the site, current Kindergarten teachers have first rights to the assignments. Should the Kindergarten teacher choose not to accept the change of assignment, they will be placed on the Involuntary Transfer list in order of seniority. In the event that an AM/PM class becomes open before school starts, the current AM/PM teacher will have first rights to the assignment.
