Sworn Employees. Every newly promoted employee covered by this agreement will be required to successfully complete a probationary period of one hundred and eighty (180) days. The probationary period shall begin on the first day the employee receives compensation from the Employer at the new rank.

Sworn Employees. The City shall pay the premium for a long-term disability plan (currently through CLEA) chosen by the Association. However, any increases in cost for that plan must be agreed to by the City and are subject to the meet and confer process. For detailed information, the employee must contact CLEA directly. CLEA enrollment is processed through the Association.
Sworn Employees. 13 a. Regularly Scheduled Shifts 14 Employees regularly assigned to an evening shift shall 15 receive a differential equal to three percent (3%) of their base wage rate for all such 16 hours worked. Employees regularly assigned to a night shift shall receive a differential 17 equal to four percent (4%) of their base wage rate for such hours worked. For purposes 18 of this section, an “evening shift” shall be defined as a shift in which the fifty percent 19 (50%) or more of the hours fall after 2:00 pm. A “night shift” shall be defined as a shift 20 in which fifty percent (50%) or more of the hours fall after 10:00 pm.
Sworn Employees. Except as provided in Section VII, Subsection (C), 22 paragraphs (9) and (10), all continuous service time accrued as a sworn employee in the 23 service of the CITY shall be considered for the purpose of determining COUNTY employee 24 benefits including sick leave, vacation, step placement on the applicable COUNTY salary 25 schedule, and the pensionability of their Flexible Benefits income. Salary step placement of 26 sworn employees shall be within the salary range of the FIRE DISTRICT position assigned, but 27 no less than the salary step that provides for the same salary or next higher salary as the 28 sworn employee's CITY salary as defined in this Section VII, Subsection (C), paragraph 2. 1 Subsequent salary step advances, if applicable, shall be one (1) year from the last step 3 event that the sworn employee's CITY salary is higher than the top step of the COUNTY salary 4 range, the sworn employee will be placed on the top step of that range, but shall be Y-Rated in 5 order to maintain the same level of base salary as the employee had with the CITY.
Sworn Employees. A. Sworn employees of the bargaining unit shall accrue time off for holidays, at the rate of eight (8) hours per month, for a total of ninety-six (96) hours per year. Such holiday time off shall be taken within the calendar year in which it is earned or the balance as of December 31 shall be paid as part of the December payroll, which may include the first pay period in January. Upon termination of an employee for any reason, or in the event of death of an employee, the employee, or the estate of the employee shall be paid a lump sum for all earned but unused holiday time off.
Sworn Employees. The time and duration of meal/rest periods for sworn employees shall be within the discretion of the Chief of Police and shall not exceed one (1) hour in total. Rest/meal periods for sworn employees shall be considered time worked. Meal/rest periods shall be scheduled in accordance with the requirements of the Department, and shall be taken at locations approved by the Chief of Police.
Sworn Employees. Sworn Employees shall receive the following longevity increases: • Two and one-half percent (2.5%) of their hourly rate of pay after ten (10) years of service with the Association and with the City in the first full pay period after their ten (10) year anniversary date (i.e., beginning at the 11th year). • Two and one-half percent (2.5%) of their hourly rate of pay after fifteen (15) years of service with the Association and with the City in the first full pay period after their fifteen (15) year anniversary date. The maximum longevity pay is five percent (5%) after completion of the 15th year. Effective May 1, 2019, sworn employees shall receive the following additional longevity increase: • Two and one-half percent (2.5%) of their hourly rate of pay after completing twelve (12) years of service (i.e., beginning at the 13th year). The maximum longevity pay will increase to seven and one-half percent (7.5%) after completion of the 15th year. Effective January 1, 2020, sworn employees shall receive the following additional longevity increase: • Two and one-half percent (2.5%) of their hourly rate of pay in addition to the two and one-half percent (2.5%) of their hourly rate of pay provided above for a total of five percent (5%) after completing fifteen (15) years of service (i.e., beginning at the 16th year). The maximum longevity pay will increase to ten percent (10%) after completion of the 15th year.

Sworn Employees. The City shall contribute Nineteen Dollars and 50/100ths ($19.50) per month per employee plus an additional Twenty Dollars and No/100ths ($20.00) per month per employee based on a dollar-for-dollar match to a Deferred Compensation account for each member.

Sworn Employees. All authorized time worked in excess of eighty (80) hours biweekly shall be compensated at the rate of time-and-one-half. Vacation, sick and holiday paid time off shall be considered time worked for overtime compensation purposes. Compensatory time off (CTO) used shall not be considered hours worked for purposes of determining overtime unless authorized by the Chief of Police due to extenuating circumstances. Overtime of less than eight (8) minutes in any workday shall not be included in determining the total number of hours worked. Thereafter, overtime shall be computed to the nearest fifteen (15) minutes. At the request of any employee eligible for overtime pay, the Chief of Police may provide that in lieu of cash payment for any overtime, the employee may be allowed time-and one-half off with pay for each hour of overtime worked. Any such time off shall be taken at a time mutually agreed upon by the employee and the Chief of Police. Employees may accrue a maximum of one hundred eighty (180) hours of compensatory time. In the event that such time off is not taken by the employee, the employee shall be given cash payment for the overtime hours worked at the time-and-one-half overtime rate based on the employee’s regular rate of pay.
