Surveying Services – General. A. Control Survey All horizontal control for the project will be based on the Missouri State Plane Coordinate System of 1983, West Zone. All vertical control for the project will be based on the North American Vertical Datum of 1988 (NAVD 88) provided by NOAA’s National Geodetic Survey (NGS). Control points and temporary bench marks will be set inter-visible and in strategic locations along the project route so as to be conveniently used during all phases of the project, including construction.
