Supportive Environment. The purpose of attending a classical student recital is not for the audience to be entertained by professional­level performers, but for immediate family to support student performers (many of whom have never been in a recital before) and for everyone to learn about what is expected at traditional classical recitals. Please refrain from critiquing other people’s children. Please do not lean over to your neighbor and whisper running commentary – positive or negative – during the performance nor afterwards. Whispering can be heard by audience members and the performer. PHOTOGRAPHY & VIDEO – Photographs of the student may be taken after the performance is over. Please do not disrupt your child’s performance by standing up in the middle of his or her performance to take photographs or shoot video. Posed shots of the student at his or her instrument after the performance actually look better. Video camera may set up ahead of time as long as it is on a tripod far away enough from performers not to interfere with the students’ concentration. Supportive Environment a. MTL will not tolerate bullying of any kind. Any bullying incident will lead to, at minimum, a suspension for the duration of the game. All bullying incidents will be reviewed by the trustees to determine further consequences up to and including removal and future prohibition from any and all MTL Programs.
