Summer School / Extend School Year. (ESY) 14.16.1 All Summer School and ESY positions are posted on EdJoin for internal candidates and assignments are awarded based on seniority within the posted classification. Unit members are paid at their hourly rate for days actually worked via timecard. Unit members earn one day of sick leave, which may be used during the Summer School or ESY work period. If the earned sick day is not used, it is added to total accrued sick leave for the unit member. Additional sick leave or other statutory leaves are not available for use during Summer School or ESY. July 4th is a paid holiday, provided the day before or the day after the holiday was actually worked.
