Substitute materials, equipment, or assemblies. The Contractor may propose to substitute a material, product, equipment, or assembly which deviates from the requirements of the approved plans and specifications but which the Contractor deems will perform the same function and have equal capabilities, service life, economy of operations, and suitability for the intended purpose. The proposal must include any cost differentials proposed. If the proposed substitute is acceptable to the Owner, a Change Order will be proposed to the Contractor to accept the substitute and to deduct the proposed cost savings from the Contract Price. The Owner shall have the right to limit or reject substitutions at its sole discretion.
