Street Department - Snow and Ice Control. The Employer may establish snow and ice control shifts, which is limited a minimum of two (2) employees, from the period of November 15th through March 31st of any year. Voluntary staffing for these shifts will be posted in the Street Department and filled in accordance with Article 22 of the Agreement, within seven (7) days prior to the start of the shift. In the event that the desired staffing levels are not met through volunteers then shifts will be filled in accordance with Article 26 of the Agreement. Hours and shifts are as below: Afternoon Shift Starting time - 3:00 p.m. Lunch - one half (½) hour within the eight (8) hour shift Quitting time - 11:30 p.m. Work schedule is Monday afternoon through Friday evening. Shift differential of seventy-five cents ($.75) above the normal rate will be paid for hours worked between 3:00 p.m. and 11:30 p.m. Night Shift Starting time -11:00 p.m. Lunch - one half (½) hour within the eight (8) hour shift Quitting time - 7:30 a.m. Work schedule is Sunday night through Friday morning. Shift differential of eighty-five cents ($.85) above the normal rate will be paid for hours worked between 11:00 p.m. and 7:30 a.m. Overtime will typically be handled as follows: Day shift will stay on duty from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. as needed Afternoon shift will stay on duty from 11:30 p.m. to 3:30 a.m. as needed Night shift will report from 8:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. as needed. The procedure for callouts on weekend and Holiday overtime will be assigned pursuant to Article 26.
