Statutory Right Clause Samples

A Statutory Right clause affirms that the rights and obligations set out in the contract are subject to, and do not override, any rights provided by applicable law. In practice, this means that if a party is entitled to certain protections or remedies under statute—such as consumer rights, employment protections, or mandatory warranties—those rights remain enforceable even if the contract does not mention them or attempts to limit them. The core function of this clause is to ensure compliance with the law and to clarify that statutory protections cannot be waived or diminished by the contract, thereby preventing legal conflicts and safeguarding parties' minimum legal entitlements.
