STATUTORY CONSULTATION. There is a statutory requirement for the Commission to consult Treasury on certain matters, including the making of regulations, orders and rules under the Act. Where the Commission has been given a power to decide, its discretion is not fettered by this consultation requirement and the Commission will make its decisions on the basis of the information to hand, including any views Treasury may have.
