Common use of State Funds Clause in Contracts

State Funds. Contractor, including its officers and members, shall not use funds received from the Commission pursuant to this Agreement to support or pay for costs or expenses related to the following: a. Campaigning or other partisan activities to advocate for either the election or defeat of any candidate for elective office, or for or against the passage of any proposition or ballot measure; or, b. Lobbying for either the passage or defeat of any legislation. This provision is not intended and shall not be construed to limit any activities specified in this Agreement that are intended to inform, educate, and support advocacy before local and state administrative and legislative bodies regarding policies and issue-based legislation consistent with the MHSA. This provision is not intended and shall not be construed to limit any expression of a view, opinion, or position of any member of Grantee as an individual or private citizen, as long as state funds are not used; nor does this provision limit Grantee from merely reporting the results of a poll or survey of its membership.
