Standby and Callback. 11:01 Standby is that time duly authorized by the Employer in writing, during which an employee is required to be “on call” and available to report for duty without undue delay.

Standby and Callback. No staff member is required to be on call. However, if he/she agrees to be on call, he/she shall receive fifty ($50.00) for each week that he/she undertakes these responsibilities. Where an employee is called back to work, he/she shall be compensated for the hours worked during such call back at his/her regular rate of pay in accordance with Article 18.01 as time off in lieu of pay, subject to Article 18.02.

Standby allowance shall not be paid during any time during which an employee is actually called back to work. Effective April 1, 2010, an employee who is designated in writing by the Employer to be on standby shall be entitled for payment of two (2) hours basic pay for each (8) hour period or a pro rata payment for any portion thereof.
