Spouses. Spouses who work for ISD 196 shall be allowed a combined total of twelve (12) weeks unpaid FMLA Leave during any twelve (12) month period for the birth or adoption of a child, or to care for a seriously ill parent or twenty-six (26) weeks in a twelve-month period in the case of service member family leave. However, the combined limitation does not apply to FMLA Leave taken by one spouse in ISD 196 to care for the other spouse in ISD 196 who is seriously ill, to care for a child with a serious health condition, or to care for the spouse’s own serious illness.
