Special Response Team (SRT Clause Samples
The Special Response Team (SRT) clause establishes the creation and deployment of a specialized group trained to handle emergency or high-risk situations within an organization or facility. This clause typically outlines the composition, responsibilities, and activation procedures for the SRT, such as responding to security breaches, natural disasters, or other critical incidents. By defining the SRT's role and protocols, the clause ensures a rapid, coordinated, and effective response to emergencies, thereby minimizing harm and maintaining safety.
Special Response Team (SRT. A. Members of the Special Response Team shall serve at the discretion of the Chief of Police.
B. The department will issue and maintain any specialized equipment deemed necessary by the Chief of Police or his designee for each member of the SRT.
C. Call-outs shall be assigned using the following method, regardless of whether overtime is incurred as a result:
1. All members of the team will be listed in order on a call-out roster, beginning with the member with the most classification seniority and continuing to the member with the least classification seniority.
2. In the event of a call-out, a command officer will determine how many OUPD SRT officers will be authorized to respond.
3. The authorized number of officers will be met beginning with the first officer on the roster and continuing until the call-out is filled or the roster is exhausted, whichever comes first.
4. Officers may not be assigned to a call-out if, at the discretion of management, assigning that officer would compromise department needs (for example, the officer is already assigned to work a shift during the time of the call-out) or violate the department’s policy limiting hours worked.
5. Each officer who is sent on the call-out, or who is offered the call- out but declines to respond, will be moved to the bottom of the roster; officers determined ineligible by management will keep their place on the roster.
6. At the conclusion of each call-out, the SRT liaison officer will furnish management with an updated call-out roster.
D. All overtime hours accrued while performing SRT duties shall be added to the standard overtime roster used for equalizing all other overtime.
Special Response Team (SRT. Employees in the Crime Scene Supervisor classification who are conscripted to support the Special Response Team (SRT) shall receive five percent (5%) differential when involved in an active SRT incident. If an employee supports the SRT while on regular duty and not while on overtime, those hours worked in the SRT on regular duty shall be reported to CalPERS as Hazard Premium Pay.
Special Response Team (SRT. Sworn officers covered by this MOU who are assigned as to the SRT Team will receive 3% above their normal salary. SRT pay is considered “Hazard Pay.”
