Special Leave Without Pay. The Parties hereby agree that the Employer shall grant leave without pay for a period of up to one (1) year to each employee who has completed seven (7) years of continuous employment within the bargaining unit. Furthermore, the Employer shall grant further periods of leave without pay of up to one (1) year after an employee has completed each additional seven (7) years of continuous employment within the bargaining unit.
