SPECIAL LEAVE WITH PAY. 44.01 (a) Subject to the approval of the permanent head or her designate, an employee may be granted leave with pay not exceeding three (3) days a year to attend to the temporary care of a sick family member; needs related to the birth of the employee's child; medical or dental appointments for family members; meetings with school authorities or adoption agencies; needs related to the adoption of a child; or home or family emergencies.
