Sick Leave Defined. A ‌ Sick leave means the period of time an employee is absent from work by virtue of being verified sick or disabled by means disabled, exposed to a contagious disease or because of a an accident for which compensation is not payable under the Workplace Safety & Insurance Act. A doctor’s certificate, which 's certificate may be required to support an absence on sick leave in excess of three (3) continuous days. The first seven (7) sick days used within the year shall be provided in accordance with Article 14.04(B) and 14.04(C)granted without validation except for when a pattern of sick abuse can be identified.

Sick Leave Defined. A Sick leave shall be considered to mean the period of time an employee is absent from work by virtue because of sickness or disability or because of an accident from which compensation is not being verified sick or disabled by means paid under the Workmen's Compensation Act. It is the responsibility of the employee to furnish a doctor’s certificate, which shall be provided in accordance with Article 14.04(BDoctor's certificate justifying the employee's continued absence due to sickness each thirty (30) and 14.04(C)days of absence. Failure to provide this certificate within seven (7) days of the completion of said thirty day period of absence will constitute voluntary termination of employment.
