Sick Leave and Absence. (a) By-Law 1988-252, entitled "A By-Law to establish an alternative salary protection plan for various employees of the Corporation of the City of Peterborough" shall be considered as being incorporated into this Agreement and forming a part thereof, such by-law being attached to this Agreement as Appendix One (1). This provision shall remain in effect up to and until such time as the parties hereto agree upon any amendments made to the by-law. Until such time as the parties to the Agreement incorporate such amendments into this or any subsequent agreement, this provision shall not lapse with the termination of this Agreement, but shall remain in full force until it has been replaced by subsequent mutual agreement of the parties. In the event that the Corporation of the City of Peterborough enacts further amendments to the said by-law 1988-252, such amendments shall not be incorporated into this Agreement but may be evaluated by the parties hereto during the course of further negotiations. Where the Chief requires a member to produce a medical note, the member will be reimbursed for the cost upon production of a receipt up to a maximum of $25.00.

Sick Leave and Absence. 11.0 Each teacher is entitled to fifteen days leave for personal illness each school year. Unused days will be accumulated; provided, effective for employees hired on or after July 1, 2009, the accumulation shall be capped at 200 days. In case of absence because of personal illness, quarantine, or injury other than that arising out of and incurred in the course of employment; a substitute shall be provided and no salary deduction will be made for a period not to exceed the teacher's accumulated sick leave.

  • Sick Leave Abuse ‌ When the Employer suspects sick leave abuse, the employee will be provided the opportunity to explain the circumstances surrounding their sick leave use prior to disciplining the employee, or making reference to sick leave use in the employee’s performance evaluation. The Employer may not adopt or enforce any policy that counts the use of paid sick leave time as an absence that may lead to or result in disciplinary action for an authorized purpose. The Employer may not discriminate or retaliate against an employee for the use of paid sick leave for an authorized purpose.

  • Extended Absences In the event Tenant will be away from the Premises for more than 7 consecutive days, Tenant agrees to notify Landlord in writing of such absence. During such absence, Landlord may enter the premises at times reasonable necessary to maintain the property and inspect for damages and needed repairs.

  • Sick Leave The employee is eligible for long term disability benefits if provided for in the Collective Agreement. An employee will not receive pay for the first two (2) weeks of any period of absence due to a legitimate illness. The employee may utilize the paid holiday bank as income replacement for absences due to illness, as described in Article (c) above. An employee who is eligible may apply for Employment Insurance for weeks three (3) through seventeen (17) for any absence due to a legitimate illness. The Home will provide the employee with Disability Income Protection as per Article 14.01 (c) for weeks eighteen (18) through thirty (30) for any absence due to a legitimate illness. Employees may be required to provide medical proof of illness for any absence of a scheduled shift, which is neither vacation nor an approved leave of absence.

  • Sick Leave During Leave of Absence (F/T) When an Employee is given leave of absence without pay for any reason, or is laid off on account of lack of work, he/she shall not continue to accumulate sick leave and shall not be entitled to receive pay for sickness for the period of such absence, but shall retain his/her cumulative credit, if any, existing at the time of such leave or lay-off.

  • Sick Leave Policy It is the policy of the State of Ohio to not unreasonably deny sick leave to employees when requested. It is also the policy of the State to take corrective action for unauthorized use of sick leave and/or abuse of sick leave. It is further the policy of the State that when corrective and/or disciplinary action is taken, it will be applied progressively and consistently.
