Common use of Shoulder Clause in Contracts

Shoulder. That portion of Roadway contiguous with Traveled Way for accommodation of stopped vehicles, for emergency use, and lateral support of Base and Surface Course, if any. Slide. A concentrated deposit of materials from above or on backslope extending onto the Traveled Way or Shoulders, whether caused by mass land movements or accumulated ravelling. Slough.
