Shift Premium Pay. An employee working within classifications in the bargaining unit identified in Appendix A of this Agreement who is scheduled to work not less than four (4) hours of his/her regular work shift during the evening (swing) shift or night (graveyard) shift shall be paid the following shift premium pay for all scheduled hours worked during such shift: Swing Shift Graveyard Shift $0.35 per hour $0.45 per hour Effective January 1, 2008, the shift premium pay for swing shift will increase from $0.35/hr to $0.70/hr and the shift premium pay for graveyard shift will increase from $0.45/hr to $0.80/hr. The shift premiums shall apply to time worked as opposed to time off with pay and therefore, for example, the premium shall not apply to sick leave, vacation, holiday pay and other forms of paid time off. Employees who work one of the shifts for which a premium is paid, and who are required to work overtime, shall not have the shift premium included as part of the base hourly rate for purposes of computing the contractual overtime rate. Shift differential shall be paid only outside of the established Day shift work schedule.
