Shift Payments. Shift employees will be paid shift allowances as follow for all shifts the major portion of which falls on a day Monday to Friday inclusive: (a) Day Shift: 10% of ordinary rate of pay. (b) Afternoon Shift: 15% of ordinary rate of pay. (c) Night Shift: 17.5% of ordinary rate of pay. (d) Casual Afternoon Shift: 17.5% of ordinary rate of pay. (e) Casual Night Shift: 20% of ordinary rate of pay. (f) Subject to the provisions of subclause (5) (Weekend Shift Payments), the allowances mentioned in (a) to (e) hereof shall be taken into consideration in calculating overtime rates but shall not be included for the purpose of calculating any other penalty rates under this Agreement.

The implementation agreement states, “Part 3 contains other Scottish provisions which may be modified locally, by negotiation between the council and the unions.” Where there is a local agreement in place applicable to the allowances below it replaces these allowances. Shift Payments. An employee rostered to work night shift shall receive an additional payment for each hour of ordinary time worked during the night shift. The applicable shift payment shall be calculated as 23% of the employee’s ordinary hourly rate. This payment shall not be applied to overtime hours worked, or hours worked on a rostered day off.
Shift Payments. The following payments, in addition to any other rates prescribed elsewhere in this Agreement, shall be paid as an amount calculated as a percentage of the rates set out in the Rates of Pay (Schedule A) in respect of rostered hours of ordinary duty: (a) 2½% - for shifts finishing after 6.00 p.m. or commencing before 6.30 a.m., except for (b) and (c) of this clause; (b) 4% - for shifts finishing on the day after the start of duty or commencing after midnight and before 5.00 a.m.; or (c) 5% - for shifts permanently worked within the times set out in sub-clause (b) above; permanently worked means any period in excess of four consecutive weeks. Calculations shall be based on the rate of 1st year of experience of each respective classification or in respect to Senior and Principal Registrar the rate of each of those classifications.
Shift Payments. Employees who are rostered to work shiftwork will be paid in accordance with the terms of Clause 21 of the AWU Miscellaneous Workers’ (ACT) 1998 Award
Shift Payments. 23.4.1 Twilight shifts will attract a loading of 20% to be paid only for the hour worked between 8pm and 9pm. 23.4.2 Afternoon shifts will attract a loading of 15% for permanent and 15% for rotating shifts. 23.4.3 Night shifts will attract a loading of 25% for permanent and 20% for rotating shifts.

Shift Payments. Shift payments for working rotating, alternating and split shifts will cease to be paid with effect from 1st March 2012. Irregular and unsocial hours payments will be paid in accordance with the table set out in table 2 above.
