SERVICE TO THE PROFESSION. Professional service includes membership in professional organizations, attendance at their meetings and conferences, organizing such meetings, service as a discussant of papers read by others or being a panel member at such meetings, holding office in organizations, receiving awards and recognition from such groups, and contributing consultative, advisory, or editorial service in a professional capacity. (Being paid for such services shall not automatically render them unworthy of consideration in this category; the University shall exercise judgment concerning the role of financial recompense in the service.)

SERVICE TO THE PROFESSION. (Knowledge Xxxxx- 0 point/hour) “How have I served others in the profession?” • Able to perform activities that assist others in professional practices or content • Able to perform activities that directly relate to licensure of educators, accreditation processes, or professional organizations Participation in activities that help others in the profession expand their expertise • Supervising student teachers – 30 points for each semester; 15 points for nine weeks. • Mentoring New Teachers – 20 points per year. • Service on accreditation teams -1 point/hr served • State and consortium committees, offices or committees in professional organizations, local committee work – 1 point/hour served • Workshop presentations – point/hour of presentation including preparation time Professional Development Points Participation in professional or staff development activities must be used to gain professional development points for licensure renewal. Professional development points are awarded not just according to whether or not an educator has attended training. Points are awarded according to: • How professional or staff development has led to increased knowledge • How it has been applied in practice • What the results of that practice have been

SERVICE TO THE PROFESSION. All teachers who reach the top of the MA, MA+12, MA+24, MA+36, and MA+48 columns of the salary schedule shall receive a Service to the Profession payment of $800 each year beginning with the first (1st) year over the top of that column. Payment will increase by $800 on the fourth (4th), seventh (7th), and tenth (10th) year over the top of that column up to a total of $3,200. Teachers on the BS+36 column who have on file an approved masters program at a college or university, shall receive $800 when they are at the third (3rd) and sixth (6th) year over the top of the column to a total of $2,400. Service to the Profession pay will continue even when a teacher moves to a new column.
SERVICE TO THE PROFESSION. The PRC will consider activities such as refereeing a research paper, editorial duties for journals, writing reviews for Mathematical Reviews or similar journals as part of service. Other such activities include service as an officer in a professional organization, participation on editorial boards, organization of conferences or symposia, and service as a referee for grant applications. Honors and recognition by professional societies or selection as a referee for grants and manuscripts will be viewed as positive evidence of a candidate’s service to the profession.

  • Professional Dues The school district will pay the annual dues for the Superintendent’s membership in the American Association of School Administrators, Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development, and Nebraska Council of School Administrators. The Superintendent’s membership in other professional organizations will be considered annually and may be approved at the discretion of the school board.

  • INDEPENDENT PERSONAL SERVICES 1. Income derived by a resident of a Contracting State in respect of professional services or other activities of an independent character shall be taxable only in that State except in the following circumstances, when such income may also be taxed in the other Contracting State:
