Seniority Standing. 11.1.1. Unless otherwise provided, each employee shall have seniority standing equal to such employee's continuous length of service with this Employer. When employees have the same seniority date, ties shall be broken by the level of placement on the Civil Service hiring list, with the higher list position resulting in the highest seniority placing. Seniority of current members of the bargaining unit are set forth in Appendix A to this Agreement. 11.1.2. Seniority shall be terminated by separation from County employment whether by discharge or resignation. Seniority shall be adjusted by the duration of absence in cases of Employer granted leave of absence, however, the Employer, at the Employer’s sole discretion, may grant continuance of seniority in the case of a leave of absence for educational purposes. An Employer granted leave of absence due to illness and/or disability shall not result in an adjustment of the employee’s seniority date.
