School Cancellations. If the attendance center to which a teacher is assigned is closed due to inclement weather, the teacher shall not be required to report to work. The Board or its designee will give notification by announcement to local media outlets and through electronic alerts as early as possible. The Board directs the Superintendent to inform/update the Board regularly about the amount of time accumulated toward attendance requirements for all students. In the event the calendar needs to be adjusted and instructional time needs to be added, the Superintendent will, time permitting, convene and discuss possible options with the Calendar Committee. The Board will make the final decision for the academic calendar based upon the options presented by the Superintendent. Under no circumstances will inservice dates be used to make up lost instructional time in the event of a school cancellation.
