Schematic Design Stage Plans/Report i. The Consultant shall consult with the Department to ascertain the requirements of the Project and shall confirm such requirements with user group, Division or Department. ii. Meet with appropriate personnel from the Department of Public Works, and appropriate user agency(ies) if applicable, to determine specific requirements to be incorporated into the designs. iii. The Consultant shall submit a written report that includes as applicable to the particular project: (a) Proposed design concepts (b) Budget estimates of construction costs based upon current area, volume or other unit costs, with an analysis of alternatives for all work. (c) Drawings of proposed layouts. (d) Code Requirement Review including separate drawing(s) with New York State Building Code Information, such as Occupancy Type, Seismic, Wind, and Snow Load Data, Importance Factors, Means of Egress Width calculations, Mean of Egress distances, Frontage Calculations, Energy Code Calculations with design temperatures and other geographic specific information. (e) Listing of any assumptions utilized. iv. This report shall be approved by SCDPW prior to the Consultant continuing with any design work. v. The Consultant shall submit Schematic Design Stage drawings and relative cost comparisons and consult with the Department as often as necessary until one scheme or a combination of schemes is selected.
