Scheduling of Use of Annual Leave. (a) Accrued annual leave may be used, if approved by an employee's supervisor in accordance with procedures established by the department head and approved by the Chief Administrative Officer or designee. Every effort must be made to give each employee the opportunity to use annual leave earned. Whenever possible, requests for leave to attend to children during school "snow days" (closings, late openings, and early dismissals) should be favorably considered. The amount of leave granted should be commensurate with the school schedule. Supervisors shall approve or deny annual leave requests within five (5) business days from receipt thereof.
