Safety Council. The PARTIES agree that the UNION is entitled to one representative and one alternate representative on the Safety Council. Safety Council. The City and the Union are committed to the goal of attaining as safe and healthful a working environment for City employees as is both possible and practical. In this regard, the City and the Union agree to work together cooperatively in the promotion and achievement of this goal. The Union recognizes the need to constantly monitor the safety needs of the workplace and to continually develop the safety program. In this regard it recognizes that the City Manager or his/her designee may institute and formulate such safety councils, committees, procedures, rules and regulations including a process for drug and alcohol testing as set forth in Appendix I, as deemed necessary or in the best interest of maintaining a safe working environment, subject to consultation as provided in Article 6 of this agreement.
Safety Council. A. A Safety Council (the Council) shall be established by the General Manager to review Safety and Health activities, evaluate and identify Safety trends to achieve Safety goals, and make appropriate recommendations to assist in the reduction and mitigation of workplace injuries, illnesses, and hazards. The Union shall have membership on the Council. Such membership shall consist of the Business Agent or President, or their designee. The Council functions shall include: Meeting at least monthly on a regularly established schedule. Special meetings may be convened on an irregular basis as needed. Special meetings shall be scheduled at the sole discretion of the General Manager or Environment, Safety and Health (ES&H) Division Manager. Reviewing Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) recordable injuries and illnesses and other Safety related accident reports as deemed necessary. Conducting on-site investigations as deemed necessary by the Council to establish and support Safety goals and objectives while providing oversight to the Pantex Plant Safety Program. Discussing Safety and Health matters of mutual concern, making recommendations to appropriate managers, and following up to assure corrective action is taken on a timely basis. B. Union representatives serving on the Council shall not suffer loss of pay for time spent during regular working hours conducting approved Council business. C. Minutes of all Council meetings shall be maintained by the Company. Copies of the minutes shall be provided to Council members and others as may be deemed appropriate by the Council.
Safety Council. Management shall establish a State Safety Council in accordance with SDNG ▇▇▇ 385-10. The Union shall designate one member to serve on the State Safety Council. If necessary, additional membership shall be as mutually agreed upon by the Safety Council. Subcommittees will be established in the same manner for operational units of the Activity when the full Safety Council deems them appropriate.

  • Joint Occupational Health and Safety Committee The Employer and the Union recognize the role of the joint Occupational Health and Safety Committee in promoting a safe and healthful workplace. The parties agree that a Joint Occupational Health and Safety Committee shall be established for each Employer covered by this Collective Agreement. The Committee shall govern itself in accordance with the provisions of the Industrial Health and Safety Regulations made pursuant to the Workers’ Compensation Act. The Committee shall be as between the Employer and the Union, with equal representation, and with each party appointing its own representatives. Representatives of the Union shall be chosen by the Union membership or appointed by the Union. All minutes of the meetings of the Joint Occupational Health & Safety Committee will be recorded in a mutually agreeable format and will be sent to the Union.   • Occupational Health and Safety Committee ‌ (a) The parties agree that a joint occupational health and safety committee will be established. Where the Committee determines that a safety-related workload problem exists, it shall inform the Employer. Within 21 days thereafter, the Employer shall advise the Committee what steps it has taken or proposes to take to rectify the safety-related workload problem identified by the Committee. If the Union is not satisfied with the Employer's response, it may refer the matter to the Industry Trouble shooter for a written recommendation. (d) No employee shall be disciplined for refusal to work when excused by the provisions of the

  • Safety Committees Joint employee-elected and Employer appointed safety committees shall be formed in accord with WISHA requirements and following University of Washington policy. The Union is entitled to representation on the University-wide or specific organizational or divisional committees where bargaining unit employees are working. Any department or unit committee also dealing with health and safety issues in work areas shall appropriately involve bargaining unit employees. Participation in safety and health committees, including meeting time, health and safety research, work on committee assignments, seminars, and classes will be considered time worked for all employees in accordance with University policy.   • Health & Safety Committee The Employer agrees to establish a Health & Safety Committee for all employees of the company under the auspices of the Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSA). The Committee shall be made up of an equal number (not less than one each) of non-bargaining unit and bargaining unit persons who have completed their probationary period. The Union has the right to appoint the members representing the bargaining unit. The Committee shall keep minutes of its meetings and post them in the shop. One copy will be forwarded to the Union office.

  • Safety Committee 63.1 Where a Health and Safety Committee is established on a job in accordance with section 72 of the OHS Act, it shall include the Employer’s Site Safety Supervisor and the Health and Safety Representative/s. 63.2 The Health and Safety Committee may, by agreement, include additional Workers’ Representatives and Employer Representatives of significant sub- contractors. 63.3 The Health and Safety Committee shall meet at least once every three (3) months and otherwise as often as is necessary to provide an overview of safety on the job, and assist in the promotion of a safe working environment on the job site. 63.4 The Safety Committee shall minute the meetings and determine an action plan for the rectification of unsafe items.
