Safety Council. The PARTIES agree that the UNION is entitled to one representative and one alternate representative on the Safety Council. UNION representatives will have the full rights and privileges of other members. The union will be notified when there is a safety/security meeting prior to the meeting.

Safety Council. The City and the Union are committed to the goal of attaining as safe and healthful a working environment for City employees as is both possible and practical. In this regard, the City and the Union agree to work together cooperatively in the promotion and achievement of this goal. The Union recognizes the need to constantly monitor the safety needs of the workplace and to continually develop the safety program. In this regard it recognizes that the City Manager or his/her designee may institute and formulate such safety councils, committees, procedures, rules and regulations including a process for drug and alcohol testing as set forth in Appendix I, as deemed necessary or in the best interest of maintaining a safe working environment, subject to consultation as provided in Article 6 of this agreement.
Safety Council. Management shall establish a State Safety Council in accordance with SDNG XXX 385-10. The Union shall designate one member to serve on the State Safety Council. If necessary, additional membership shall be as mutually agreed upon by the Safety Council. Subcommittees will be established in the same manner for operational units of the Activity when the full Safety Council deems them appropriate.
Safety Council. A. A Safety Council (the Council) shall be established by the General Manager to review Safety and Health activities, evaluate and identify Safety trends to achieve Safety goals, and make appropriate recommendations to assist in the reduction and mitigation of workplace injuries, illnesses, and hazards. The Union shall have membership on the Council. Such membership shall consist of the Business Agent or President, or their designee. The Council functions shall include: Meeting at least monthly on a regularly established schedule. Special meetings may be convened on an irregular basis as needed. Special meetings shall be scheduled at the sole discretion of the General Manager or Environment, Safety and Health (ES&H) Division Manager. Reviewing Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) recordable injuries and illnesses and other Safety related accident reports as deemed necessary. Conducting on-site investigations as deemed necessary by the Council to establish and support Safety goals and objectives while providing oversight to the Pantex Plant Safety Program. Discussing Safety and Health matters of mutual concern, making recommendations to appropriate managers, and following up to assure corrective action is taken on a timely basis.

  • Joint Occupational Health and Safety Committee The Employer and the Union recognize the role of the joint Occupational Health and Safety Committee in promoting a safe and healthful workplace. The parties agree that a Joint Occupational Health and Safety Committee shall be established for each Employer covered by this Collective Agreement. The Committee shall govern itself in accordance with the provisions of the Industrial Health and Safety Regulations made pursuant to the Workers’ Compensation Act. The Committee shall be as between the Employer and the Union, with equal representation, and with each party appointing its own representatives. Representatives of the Union shall be chosen by the Union membership or appointed by the Union. All minutes of the meetings of the Joint Occupational Health & Safety Committee will be recorded in a mutually agreeable format and will be sent to the Union. The Union further agrees to actively pursue with the other Health Care Unions a Joint Union Committee for the purposes of this Article. The Employer agrees to provide or cause to be provided to Employer members of the Joint Occupational Health and Safety Committee adequate training and orientation to the duties and responsibilities of committee members to allow the incumbents to fulfil those duties competently. The Union agrees to provide or cause to be provided to Union members of the Joint Occupational Health and Safety Committee adequate training and orientation to the duties and responsibilities of committee members to allow the incumbents to fulfil those duties competently. Such training and orientation shall take place within six (6) months of taking office.

  • Occupational Health and Safety Committee The Employer and the Union agree to cooperate in the promotion of safe working conditions, the prevention of accidents, the prevention of workplace injuries and the promotion of safe workplace practices.

  • Safety Committees Joint employee-elected and Employer appointed safety committees shall be formed in accord with WISHA requirements and following University of Washington policy. The Union is entitled to representation on the University-wide or specific organizational or divisional committees where bargaining unit employees are working. Any department or unit committee also dealing with health and safety issues in work areas shall appropriately involve bargaining unit employees. Participation in safety and health committees, including meeting time, health and safety research, work on committee assignments, seminars, and classes will be considered time worked for all employees in accordance with University policy. Release time must be arranged with supervisors in advance. When the committee makes a recommendation that requires action or approval beyond its scope of authority, the Employer will communicate its disposition of the formal written recommendation within thirty (30) days.

  • Health & Safety Committee The Employer agrees to establish a Health & Safety Committee for all employees of the company under the auspices of the Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSA). The Committee shall be made up of an equal number (not less than one each) of non-bargaining unit and bargaining unit persons who have completed their probationary period. The Union has the right to appoint the members representing the bargaining unit. The Committee shall keep minutes of its meetings and post them in the shop. One copy will be forwarded to the Union office.

  • Safety Committee 62.1 Where a Health and Safety Committee is established on a job in accordance with section 72 of the OHS Act, it shall include the Employer’s Site Safety Supervisor and the Health and Safety Representative/s.

  • Health and Safety Committees A. The parties agree that Joint Union/Management Health and Safety Committees are appropriate. At the Union's request, each department shall establish at least one Joint Union/Management Health and Safety Committee.

  • Health and Safety Committee Where required a committee will be formed and will meet where required by the Employer’s safety policies and by statute.

  • Joint Safety Committee (a) The Union and the Company shall cooperate in selecting one or more Safety Committees, which will meet at least once a month to consider all safety and occupational health problems.

  • Joint Health and Safety Committee i) Recognizing its responsibilities under the applicable legislation, the Hospital agrees to accept as a member of its Joint Health and Safety Committee, at least one (1) representative selected or appointed by the Association from amongst bargaining unit employees from each Hospital site. Hospitals will choose either to include a representative from the bargaining unit from each Hospital site, or to have a separate Joint Health and Safety Committee at each Hospital site, unless the parties agree otherwise.

  • Central Bargaining Committee (a) In central bargaining between the Canadian Union of Public Employees and the participating hospitals, an employee serving on the Union's Central Negotiating Committee shall be paid for time lost from his normal straight time working hours at his regular rate of pay and without loss of leave credits for attending central negotiating meetings with the Hospitals' Central Negotiating Committee in direct negotiations up to the point of arbitration. In addition, an employee serving on the Union’s Central Negotiating Committee shall be paid for time lost from his normal straight time working hours at his regular rate of pay and without loss of leave credits for two (2) days of preparation time for such central negotiating meetings with the Hospital’s Central negotiating Committee. Upon reference to arbitration, the Negotiating Committee members shall receive unpaid time off for the purpose of attending arbitration hearings. It is understood and agreed that the maximum number of Union Central Negotiating Committee members entitled to payment under this provision shall be eight (8), and in no case will more than one employee from a hospital be entitled to such payment. The Union shall advise the Hospitals' Central Negotiating Committee, before negotiations commence, of those employees to be paid under this provision. The Hospitals' Central Negotiating Committee shall advise the eight (8) Hospitals accordingly.
