Rights of Bargaining Unit Employees. 5 Employees shall have the right to self-organize, to form, join or assist labor 6 organizations or to refrain therefrom, to bargain collectively through representatives of 7 their own choosing, and there shall be no discrimination exercised against any employee 8 covered by this Agreement because of the employee’s membership or Union activities.

Rights of Bargaining Unit Employees. Subject to the provisions of this Article and in compliance with federal and state law, it shall be a condition of employment that all City employees covered by this Agreement shall become and remain members of the Union in good standing. There shall be no discrimination exercised against any employee covered by the Agreement because of their membership of Union activities. All future employees will be expected to join the Union and pay dues after thirty (30) days of employment.
