REST AND LUNCH BREAKS. (2017) Employees shall be provided with at least one (1) fifteen (15) minute rest break per day. Where a normally scheduled rest or lunch break would otherwise interrupt, disrupt, impede or stop any court proceedings, the supervisor shall make every effort to provide such break at some other time during the day. However, every effort will be made to provide normal rest and lunch breaks during the course of the day. Where a lunch break (however, not a rest break) is unable to be taken due to circumstances stated above, an equivalent period of time may be granted at the end of the workday, thus shortening the workday for that employee. The Judicial Branch agrees to incorporate a suitable employee break area into all newly acquired or newly constructed facilities.
REST AND LUNCH BREAKS. Existing practice with regard to paid rest and unpaid lunch breaks shall continue during the life of this Agreement except that employees shall be provided with at least one (1) fifteen (15) minute rest break per day. However, with specific regard to Official Court Reporters and other employees who operate stenographic and keyboard equipment on a sustained daily basis, every effort will be made to provide normal rest and lunch breaks during the course of the day. At any worksite where an employee receives two (2) rest breaks per day (not to include Court Reporters) such practice shall be extended equitably to all employees at that worksite. Where a lunch break (however, not a rest break) is unable to be taken due to circumstances stated above, an equivalent period of time may be granted at the end of the work day, thus shortening the work day for that employee. REST AND LUNCH BREAKS. (a) When production and/or maintenance is on a continuous operation, the shifts shall be those set out in the assigned work schedules with the Employee allowed one- half (1/2) hour to eat on the Company’s time. No Employee will be required to work in excess of five (5) consecutive hours without a meal break. In any case, an Employee’s meal break will be observed between the third and fifth hours of any shift worked.
REST AND LUNCH BREAKS. Daily hours of work shall be consecutive, with the exception of a fifteen (15) minute paid rest break in the first half of the work day, a thirty (30) minute unpaid meal period, and a fifteen (15) minute paid rest period in the second half of the day, for a work day of six (6) or more hours. In addition, one (1) minute before each rest period and meal period will be allowed for employees to put their tools, etc., in the designated area, and one (1) minute after each rest break and meal period will be allowed for employees to wash their hands before production starts.
REST AND LUNCH BREAKS. It is understood that where an employee is working overtime beyond a regular shift, such work shall be preceded by a ten (10) minute paid rest period or the rest period may be taken soon after commencement of the overtime work. Where the overtime worked is in excess of two (2) hours, the employee shall have paid adequate time (maximum 20 minutes) to consume a meal. As a general policy, no employee will be expected to work in excess of twelve (12) continuous hours.

Each teacher working more than six hours per day, shall be entitled to two paid rest breaks per day of no less than 10 minutes. Lunch breaks (unpaid) Where a kindergarten is open for instruction for two separate periods of time in the same day separated by a break where no children attend, the employer shall ensure there is no less than 45 minutes between child contact sessions, during which time teachers shall take their lunch break. Where a kindergarten is open for instruction for more than four and up to 6.5 continuous hours on any day, each teacher working five hours or more shall be entitled to a lunch break of 30 minutes, which may be increased by mutual agreement. Where a kindergarten that is open for instruction for more than 6.5 continuous hours on any day each teacher working five hours or more shall be entitled to a lunch break of one hour, which may be decreased to no less than 30 minutes by mutual agreement. If the employee fails to take any or all such breaks, for whatever reason, he or she shall have no right to claim any compensation for that time.
