Respectful Workplace a. The Employer is committed to taking appropriate measures to create and maintain a workplace that is respectful and free from inappropriate workplace behavior for all Agency employees pursuant to the statewide policy titled ‘Maintaining a Professional Workplace Policy’ (50.010.03).

Respectful Workplace. The Parties agree that all Employees shall be entitled to a respectful workplace free of discrimination, sexual harassment and workplace harassment.
Respectful Workplace. The Employer and the Union agree that all employees have the right to work in an environment free from personal harassment. The parties agree to maintain such an environment. To this end, each employer will publish a clear policy for promoting and maintaining a working environment in which all persons are treated with respect and dignity and not subjected to humiliation or intimidation. These policies will be accessible to staff outlining expectations and consequences of inappropriate behaviour. The policies will contain a complaint process, investigation process, a conclusion and an appeal process.
Respectful Workplace. (1) The Employer and the Union jointly affirm that every employee shall be entitled to a respectful workplace. The environment must be free of behaviour such as discrimination, harassment, disruptive workplace conflict, and disrespectful behaviour. The principle of fair treatment is a fundamental one and both the Employer and the Union will not condone improper behaviour on the part of any person, which would jeopardize an employee’s dignity and well being or undermine work relationships and productivity. In addition, the parties agree that a respectful workplace includes a safe and healthy workplace.

A safe environment is important for staff and contributes to providing the highest possible standard of care. Staff should expect to work in, and where the risk of violence is minimized. The Employer will publish a clear policy for promoting and maintaining a respectful environment. These policies will be accessible to staff and the users of the health care system regarding expectations and consequences of inappropriate behaviour, aggression and violence.

The University has policies on these topics, including: Policy on Discrimination and Harassment: Prevention and Response, Violence in the Workplace Policy; and the Sexual Violence Policy.
