The Reserve Assignments clause establishes how specific resources, funds, or rights are set aside or allocated for particular purposes within an agreement. Typically, this clause details the process for designating reserves, such as earmarking a portion of funds for future obligations or contingencies, and may outline the conditions under which these reserves can be accessed or adjusted. Its core practical function is to ensure that adequate resources are available to meet anticipated needs or liabilities, thereby reducing financial risk and promoting responsible management.
Reserve Assignments. 1. Processing for the first day of each bid period, Reserve Flight Attendants in each domicile will be placed on one list in seniority order.
2. For the remaining days in each bid period, Reserve Flight Attendants in each domicile will be placed on one list in the inverse order of accumulated credited hours for the month, i.e. least time flown is first on the list. For purposes of placement on the list, the following shall be used:
a. In addition to other credited time (such as block time), the following time marked by the below removal codes will be credited after it occurs: BR – Bereavement Pay SA – Special Assignment CI – Critical Incident SF – FMLA use Sick Pay CD – Career Decision Day SK – Paid Sick DR – Restricted Duty SR – Sick Reserve Paid F6 – V6 due to FMLA (next year) TD – Travel Day ID – Injury on Duty TR – Training IS – Injury Sick V6 – Paid Vacation Day JD – Jury Duty VC – Vacation PM – Paid Move Day VF – FMLA use Vacation Pay PU – Paid Union WP – Paid Witness PW – Pay withheld * additional codes as identified
b. If two (2) or more Flight Attendants have the same amount of credited time, then they will be placed on the list in seniority order and assignments shall be made in seniority order.
3. Between the hours of 1000 and 1400 CT Reserve Flight Attendants will have the opportunity to preference specific pairings, RAPs, uncovered Airport Reserve Periods, and full and partial releases, if any, for the following day. Such preferences must fall within the Reserve's scheduled days of availability but need not cover all days of availability.
4. By 1800 CT, Crew Scheduling will assign all known Airport Reserve Periods, RAPs and open time pairings that are scheduled to depart the next day. Such assignments will be made as follows:
a. For the first day of the bid period, Crew Scheduling will go down the reserve list in seniority order, assigning pairings based on Flight Attendant preferences. After the awarding of preferences in seniority order, assignments remaining shall be assigned in inverse seniority order. Crew Scheduling will use its best efforts to honor Flight Attendant preferences but not to the extent that so doing would force another Flight Attendant to work on a day off.
b. For each of the remaining days in the bid period, Crew Scheduling will process reserve assignments in Least Time Accrued Order assigning pairings first, followed by Airport Reserve and then RAPS based on Flight Attendant preferences. Crew Scheduling will use its best...
Reserve Assignments. 1. A Reserve Flight Attendant may only be called to the airport for a specific assignment.
2. A Reserve Flight Attendant is considered to be assigned to a trip until released by Crew Scheduling.
Reserve Assignments. 1. All known airport reserve assignments for the following day and all known open time departing the next day will be distributed by 1700 to Reserves per Paragraph F.2, below or unless F.3.e below applies.
2. The Reserve’s assignment will be posted electronically by 1700 Central Time the day prior to the flight assignment or airport reserve assignments. The Reserve may self-notify for such assignment electronically or by calling Crew Scheduling. A Reserve is responsible for obtaining her/his assignment before 2000 Central Time the day prior to her/his Reserve day.
3. Trips to Reserves will be assigned based on the following factors:
a. Days of availability on reserve.
b. Least number of credit hours for the month.
c. If days of availability on reserve, and number of credit hours are the same, the trip shall be assigned based on seniority and Flight Attendant preference. A Reserve may submit her/his preference to be assigned first or last in such instance.
d. The Company may bypass the above factors due to significant weather events or any other irregular operational event.

2. The Reserve’s assignment will be posted electronically by 1700 Central Time the day prior to the flight assignment or ready reserve assignments. The Reserve may self-notify for such assignment electronically or by calling Crew Scheduling. A Reserve is responsible for obtaining her/his assignment before 2000 Central Time the day prior to her/his Reserve day.
3. Trips to Reserves will be assigned based on the following factors:
a. Days of availability on reserve.
b. Least number of credit hours for the month.
c. If days of availability on reserve, and number of credit hours are the same, the trip shall be assigned based on seniority and Flight Attendant preference. A Reserve shall be able to express in advance her/his preference to be assigned first or last in such instance.
d. The Company may by-pass the above factors to assign a language- qualified Reserve pursuant to ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇ ▇, ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇.
Reserve Assignments. 5.21.1 Reserve Pilots will be offered Pairings in order of seniority, subject to the following:
a) A senior Reserve Pilot shall be allowed to pass on the assignment, unless:
i) They are the only Reserve Pilot available, or all other Reserve Pilots have reached the ninety (90) credit hour limit specified in paragraph 5.18.6 a); or
ii) In the event that it is shown that the Assignment would affect the senior Pilot’s schedule for the following Day(s), the Company may assign the flight to a more junior Pilot at the same Base who is on Reserve; or
iii) The senior Reserve Pilot available that Day must accept the Assignment if it is shown that the Assignment would affect the junior Pilot’s schedule for the following Day(s); or
iv) The Pilot needs to maintain currency.
b) The most junior Reserve Pilot must accept the Assignment if all senior Reserve Pilots have exercised their right to pass. If requested, Crew Scheduling shall inform the Reserve Pilot of the reasoning of their selection for the Assignment.
5.21.2 A Reserve Pilot who has reported and who is removed from their assigned Pairing prior to the first flight Segment shall be required to remain available at the airport for up to ninety (90) minutes after the original Report Time for possible reassignment. If there is no reassignment within the ninety (90) minute period, the Pilot shall be released from Duty and credited for that Day. Once reported for Duty, the Reserve Pilot is in an active FDP.
5.21.3 Unless expressly provided in the Reserve Subsections in Section 5 (SCHEDULING), all provisions within Section 4 (HOURS OF SERVICE) and Section 5 (SCHEDULING) shall apply to the Reserve Pilot once assigned a Pairing. However, a Reserve Pilot may be assigned Duty up to the maximum of available scheduled Reserve Days within their Block of Reserve. The Company shall not add additional Reserve Days to a Reserve Pilot without their consent.
5.21.4 A Reserve Pilot assigned a pairing and in an active FDP will make positive contact with Crew Scheduling upon returning to their Base at the end of a pairing and prior to being released to Rest.
