Relief Duties. An employee who is classified to perform relief duties shall be available for duty in revolving shifts on any day of the week and may be assigned for relief in any shift without advance notice. Such employee shall not, as a result of relief assignments, be paid overtime for work performed during regular work hours. Such employee is considered a shift employee and shall not receive overtime as a result of being notified of any schedule change during work hours. However, said employee shall receive the applicable shift premium for hours worked on an established shift. However, if the employee is required to report for work without having had eight (8) hours off following the end of the last preceding work period, the employee will be paid overtime for any time worked in the eight (8) hour period following the end of the last preceding work period. A work period is defined as any eight (8) or twelve (12) hour shift or extension thereof.
Relief Duties. Post 9 Security Personnel will relieve Post 1 and 2 when required and will be trained as the back-up security personnel.

Relief Duties. 16:01 A physician who is appointed to a senior position for a period of more than ten (10) consecutive working days shall be paid a salary equivalent to the bottom of the scale for the position for which he is relieving or the next increment level above the physician's own prevailing salary. Relief Duties. 01 Where an employing authority or his designate directs an employee employed in one (1) position to temporarily take over the duties and responsibilities of some other position having a higher grade of pay, and provided the employee takes over and continues to perform for ten (10) or more consecutive working days the duties and responsibilities of that other position, he shall be appointed temporarily to that other position with acting status and shall be paid at the rate of pay for that other position that is at least one (1) increment more from the date of taking over the duties and responsibilities of that other position until the temporary appointment is revoked; and upon the temporary appointment being revoked he shall, unless he is appointed or promoted to some other position, revert to his original position and be paid at the rate of pay for his original position that he would be paid if he had never held the temporary appointment.
Relief Duties. 10.05.01 An employee who is assigned to assume the duties of an employee in a higher classification, shall be paid at the minimum rate, subject to the NOTE below, of the classification in which relieving, provided that the duration of such relief is for a period of at least one (1) full work day or more. All paid periods of relief in a higher classification, shall be accumulated toward the scheduled advancement in pay within the classification scale.
NOTE 1: In the event that such employee is holding laid-off status in the classification to which assigned, or has previously served in such classification in an acting capacity, he shall be paid at the current rate for the position in the scale which he previously attained. In the event that such employee has previously served the necessary time for a higher scale rate, but did not receive the rate by reason of such service terminating before payment became effective, he shall be considered as having attained the higher rate. NOTE 2: Effective June 15, 1997, Lead Station Attendants and Station Attendants who become "fully qualified" as per Article 6.04.02 and complete above basic training in a classification(s), will be required to perform acting/relief assignments in the above basic classification(s) during the period of one (1) year following his becoming fully qualified, in situations where normal staffing processes do not provide the required coverage. Should the assignment of employees become necessary, the assignment will be in accordance with a process agreed to locally. NOTE 3: Scheduled advancement in pay will be based on the following:
a) Twenty-six (26) weeks will be administered on the basis of time actually worked, and will be based on nine hundred and fifty-two (952) hours.
b) A calendar year will be administered on the basis of time actually worked, and will be based on one thousand, nine hundred and four (1,904) hours.
c) Two (2) calendar years will be administered on the basis of time actually worked, and will be based on three thousand, eight hundred and eight (3,808) hours.
10.05.02 When relief is required at regular intervals in a higher classification, on a pre-planned basis, to supply coverage in that classification not provided by the established work cycle, it shall be considered cycle relief. Relief Duties. (i) From time to time, Community First may require an employee to carry out work at an office other than their normal place of work to carry out relief duties.
(ii) Relief duties are defined as instances where an employee will temporarily fill a vacant position at another location (“the relief location”). Transfers from one office to another of a permanent nature shall not be deemed to be relief duties.
(iii) Employees who travel to another location to carry out relief duties shall be entitled to reimbursement of any reasonable travelling costs in excess of the travelling costs incurred when attending their normal place of duties. Subject to travel by the most direct route, where use of a private motor vehicle is involved, the rate of reimbursement shall be at the rate specified by the Australian Taxation Office for the purposes of claiming an income tax deduction for car expenses using the “cents per kilometre” method (as that rate varies from time to time).
(iv) Where the relief location means the employee spends more time travelling to and from the relief location than their usual place of work, the employee will be paid their ordinary hourly rate of pay for travelling time in excess of their normal travelling time of up to 30 minutes (one-way).
