Release Time for Association Representatives. A. The President or other representatives of the UNION will be released with pay to attend hearings or proceedings involving the UNION and the DISTRICT. The UNION will submit requests for release time as far in advance as is feasible, specifying the meetings to be attended. The UNION shall be reasonable in requesting such absences and the DISTRICT shall be reasonable in approving such requests.

Release Time for Association Representatives. The District shall provide up to a total of twenty (20) days of release time with pay for Association representatives to attend state meetings, provided the Association pays for the substitutes. Additional days needed for an Association member to serve on state or national committees may be granted by the Superintendent upon written request of the Association.

Except by mutual agreement, the number of employees excused for such purposes shall not exceed two (2).
