Regular Holiday - Weekend Observance. When a regular holiday falls on a Saturday, the preceding Friday shall be observed as a floating holiday. With the exception of employees who work in a seven (7) day per week work site, when a regular holiday falls on a Sunday, the following Monday shall be observed as the holiday. For employees who work in a seven (7) day per week work site, when a regular holiday falls on a Sunday, the regular holiday shall be observed on Sunday. Notwithstanding provisions of the County ordinance relating to regular holidays that fall on a Saturday, employees who are scheduled to work and who work on a regular holiday that falls on a Saturday shall be compensated in accordance with Section 3.4.2.1 of this Memorandum of Understanding. When an employee is scheduled to work and works on a regular holiday that falls on a Saturday, the preceding Friday is not observed as a floating holiday.

  • Holiday Falling on Saturday or Sunday For an employee whose normal workweek is from Monday to Friday and when any of the above-noted holidays falls on a Saturday and is not proclaimed as being observed on another day, the following Monday will be deemed to be the holiday. When a holiday falls on a Sunday and it is not proclaimed as being observed on another day, the following Monday (or Tuesday, where the preceding section already applies), will be deemed to be the holiday for the purpose of this agreement.
