Provisional Teacher. The term “provisional teacher” shall mean any teacher with less than three (3) years of service in the district (except as noted in Section 12.8.1), working at least half time. Continued employment is not guaranteed during this contract period.

Provisional Teacher. Notwithstanding any other provisions of this Agreement to the contrary, this documents that the Association and the District have agreed to a rate of pay, hours of work, benefits, and other terms and conditions of employment for any instructional personnel (defined as eligible for certification in the State of Florida) hired on or after June 1, 2006, who are required to be “Highly Qualified” under the No Child Left Behind Act of 2001 (hereinafter referred to as NCLB) More specifically, such personnel shall be required to execute an instructional contract addendum providing that they will become “Highly Qualified” no later than the last workday of the school year for which they are hired. Instructional personnel who fail to become “Highly Qualified” by the deadline established by the contract addendum will be terminated from employment for failure to meet the minimum qualifications of their positions. Pursuant to the aforementioned instructional contract addendum, Teachers hired on or after June 1, 2006, who are not “Highly Qualified” will be paid a salary of $130 per day and receive all benefits afforded to employees pursuant to the Agreement (including, but not limited to, District seniority and participation in the Florida Retirement System). Such Teachers shall not receive salary consideration either for earned years of service or for an advanced degree until such time as they become “Highly Qualified”. Upon the District’s official notification that any such Teachers have become “Highly Qualified” under NCLB, they shall be entitled to the salary step to which their earned years of service and/or advanced degree would have otherwise entitled them, effective as of the date that they passed the test to become “Highly Qualified” or otherwise became “Highly Qualified”.   • Long Term Occasional Teachers or teachers hired in term positions, shall be eligible for the SEB as described herein for a maximum of eight (8) weeks with the length of the benefit limited by the term of the assignment. Teachers on daily casual assignments are not entitled to the benefits outlined in this article.

  • Multi-year Planning Targets Schedule A may reflect an allocation for the first Funding Year of this Agreement as well as planning targets for up to two additional years, consistent with the term of this Agreement. In such an event, the HSP acknowledges that if it is provided with planning targets, these targets:

  • BEGINNING TEACHERS definition Beginning teachers meet the Teaching Council criteria for provisional certification as a teacher. Beginning Teachers work under the guidance of others. They undertake “advice and guidance” programmes to assist in the development of the competencies required for full certification.

  • In-Service Programs The parties to this collective agreement recognize the value of in-service education both to the employee and the Employer.

  • Deployment (a) In filling a position vacancy at a location NAV CANADA may proceed by the transfer of an employee at the same level.

  • Orientation and In-Service Program The Hospital recognizes the need for a Hospital Orientation Program of such duration as it may deem appropriate taking into consideration the needs of the Hospital and the nurses involved.

  • TRAINING AND EMPLOYEE DEVELOPMENT 9.1 The Employer and the Union recognize the value and benefit of education and training designed to enhance an employee’s ability to perform their job duties. Training and employee development opportunities will be provided to employees in accordance with college/district policies and available resources.

  • DEVELOPMENT OR ASSISTANCE IN DEVELOPMENT OF SPECIFICATIONS REQUIREMENTS/ STATEMENTS OF WORK Firms and/or individuals that assisted in the development or drafting of the specifications, requirements, statements of work, or solicitation documents contained herein are excluded from competing for this solicitation. This shall not be applicable to firms and/or individuals providing responses to a publicly posted Request for Information (RFI) associated with a solicitation.
