Promotion Compensation. 17 Employees “permanently” assigned by the District to a position within the unit 18 which is compensated at a higher salary range than their present salary range 19 shall be deemed to have been promoted and shall receive at least five percent 20 (5%) above the compensation rate to which they were previously assigned or at 21 Step A of the new salary range, whichever is greater.
