Promotion and Education. The Contractor, at its own cost and at the direction of the City, shall have primary responsibility for developing, designing, executing, and distributing public promotion, education, and outreach programs. The Contractor shall also have primary responsibility for Customer recruitment, providing annual service-oriented information and outreach to Customers, including providing on-site Commercial Recycling and Compostables technical assistance, distributing City-developed promotional and educational pieces at the City’s direction, and implementing on-going recycling promotions, education, and outreach programs at the direction of the City. All written materials, Customer surveys and other general communications provided to Customers by the Contractor shall be approved in advance by the City. Each September, the City and Contractor shall jointly plan the Contractor’s specific promotion and education program for the following year, including adjustments in materials and/or targeted audiences. The City may elect to assist the Contractor with development of promotional material layout and text, as staff time allows, otherwise the Contractor shall be responsible for all design and development work, subject to City approval. Each year, the Contractor shall print and deliver and annual comprehensive service guide to each Single- Family Residential and Multifamily Complex customer which shall include, at a minimum, information on the proper disposal of Garbage, Recyclables, and Compostables; disposal options for difficult-to-recycle items and hazardous wastes; collection guidelines; contact information; and any other pertinent information. The Contractor shall contact, at the City’s request, the manager or owner of Multifamily Complex sites to encourage recycling participation, address concerns, space or contamination problems, provide outreach to residents, and inform the manager or owner of all available services and ways to decrease Garbage generation. The Contractor shall coordinate and work cooperatively with City staff and/or consultants hired to conduct outreach and education, and provide technical assistance. The Contractor shall, at the City’s request, address concerns, space or contamination problems, and offer additional education or training to tenant businesses. The Contractor shall also incorporate general waste reduction, minimization and reuse elements in to its promotion and education program. The Contractor shall maintain a complete list of all Multi-Family Complex sites within the City Service Area, and the status of each site’s participation in Contractor-provided services. The Contractor shall annually contact, by telephone or site visit, the manager or owner of each site to encourage participation and inform the manager or owner of all available services and ways to decrease Garbage generation. Printed informational materials discussing waste prevention and recycling service options shall be prepared and distributed to support contact with Multi-Family Complex and Commercial Customer sites. This contact shall be coordinated with City and King County promotional efforts. The Contractor shall include with its annual report the list of Multi-Family Complex and Commercial Customer sites; Garbage, recycling and Compostables status; Container sizes, service frequency, and types; Customer contact dates and outcome of such contacts; and suggestions for increasing participation or other program improvements. The Contractor shall keep the public informed of programs and encourage participation through an annual service update. Each fall, the Contractor shall provide an annual service update for each service sector, the format, content and timeframe of which shall be subject to prior review and approval by the City. The annual service update shall be mailed to all Customers and, at a minimum, shall include an informational brochure indicating rates, all services available, preparation and other service requirements, contact information, inclement weather and other policies, a collection schedule calendar applicable to each recipient’s routes and other useful Customer information. The Contractor shall develop, print, periodically update and maintain sufficient quantities of new Customer information materials, the format and content of which shall be subject to prior review and approval by the City.   • Special Education Teachers Whenever any Elementary Special Education class to which a student(s) is(are) added as a result of the distribution of students from the class of an absent Elementary Special Education teacher, Article 8-7 shall be in effect. In addition, whenever the class size of the receiving Special Education teacher exceeds the class size maxim mandated by Special Education class size law and/or regulation, the Xxxxxxxx Formula in AAA Case No. 1139-0696- 85, February 21, 1986, shall be used to calculate the compensation which said teacher shall receive as follows: The rate of pay for said teacher for teaching said additional students shall be computed by multiplying the teacher’s daily gross compensation by a fraction in which the denominator is twenty-six (26) and the numerator is the number of children taught in excess of Article 8-1.1 Item 3 of the Collective Bargaining Agreement between the parties.

The Authorizer is the LEA for purposes of ensuring compliance with IDEA, Section 504, and all other federal and state laws and regulations concerning accommodation of and education of students with disabilities.

  • Education and Training The foundation of this Program is education and voluntary compliance. It is recognized that alcohol and chemical dependency may make voluntary cessation of use difficult, and one of the Program’s principal aims is to make voluntary steps toward ending substance abuse easily available. The outside contractor shall review and develop on-going educational and training information on the adverse consequences of substance abuse and the responsibility to avoid being under the influence of alcohol or chemicals at work. Certain training required by the DOT Regulations shall be the responsibility of the Substance Abuse Program.
