Professional Study. Permanent unit members may apply for professional study leave by outlining in writing the plan that is to be followed and the institution to be attended. In addition, a clear statement must be included in the request indicating the need for educational study and the potential value to the District upon completion of such study. (see Appendix A, 4.033)

Professional Study. Regular appointed teachers who have completed at least four (4) continuous years of service in the Snake River School District shall be granted upon request, leave for professional study of up to one (1) year without pay or increment.
Professional Study. The Unit Member shall pursue a full-time program of advanced graduate studies in an accredited institution of higher learning. The program must relate to the present or prospective service of the Unit Member to the Employer.
Professional Study. An eligible teacher who has completed at least two (2) continuous years of service in School District No. 25 shall be granted, upon request, leave for up to the remainder of the current year without pay or increment for professional study. In extraordinary situations, the eligible employee can make a request to the Board to extend the leave for an additional year. Upon return from such leave, an employee shall be placed at the same position on the salary schedule which they acquired at the time they left. A replacement employee shall be a temporary employee whose position is terminated upon the return of the regular employee. If the position is abolished during the leave of absence period granted the regular employee, every effort shall be made by the administration to arrange for a transfer to a similar position, if a vacancy is in existence. If unable to transfer, layoff process in Article 19 and Article 20 shall be followed.
Professional Study. An unpaid leave of absence of up to one (1) year may be granted to any contract member whose application and outline of intended course of study are approved by the Klamath County School District Board. Study must be undertaken at an accredited college or university. Absence for professional study shall not be construed as a break in service to the District. Experience shall not be granted for the year's leave of absence for professional study. A written statement requesting professional leave and stating that the respective individual intends to return to the District after completion of the leave of absence must be filed in the District office by April 1.

Professional Study. A professional study leave may be granted to a unit member for a formal education program which offers a potential benefit to the District and the unit member. The District may require proof of the unit member’s registration and participation in the formal education program.
Professional Study. An instructional employee who has taught under contract in Monroe's School System seven (7) years or more, upon written request, may be granted a leave of absence without pay for the purpose of professional study, providing also that such leave shall not exceed a period of one (1) year and providing also that such leave does not impair the program of the school system. Those who request such leave must hold a continuing, professional or permanent certificate. Teachers granted leaves shall be considered to have contract ipso facto. These conditions allow credit for retirement purposes according to Retirement Board rulings.
Professional Study. An instructional employee who has been employed under contract for three (3) years or more, upon written request, may be granted a leave of absence for study for one (1) year without salary but with insurance benefits provided; however, the Board shall not be held liable for death or injuries sustained by any teacher while on a sabbatical leave. Written request must be submitted by March 1 preceding the September in which leave would begin and will not become effective until agreed to by both parties. Upon return, said teacher will be given his/her former position or a position mutually agreed upon by both parties. In the event that his/her former position is no longer part of the curriculum, he/she will be given a position in the system that has been agreed upon by both parties.
