Professional Business Sample Clauses
The 'Professional Business' clause defines the requirement that the parties to an agreement conduct their activities in a professional and businesslike manner. This typically means that all actions, communications, and deliverables must meet industry standards of quality and professionalism, and that parties are expected to act with integrity and competence. For example, a service provider must ensure their work is performed by qualified personnel and meets the expectations set out in the contract. The core function of this clause is to set a baseline for acceptable conduct and performance, helping to prevent disputes over unprofessional behavior or substandard work.
Professional Business. Each Teacher may, with the approval of the Superintendent, or his/her designee, be granted:
1. One (1) day per year, with administrative approval, with full pay, for the purpose of visiting other approved classrooms either in or outside the District.
2. With administrative approval, and with full pay, release time to attend educational workshops may be granted, and any other approved activities that are conducive to professional growth. If possible, all requests for professional business absences shall be submitted to the Principal at least two (2) weeks before the anticipated day of absence.
Professional Business. At the beginning of every school year, each teacher shall be credited with up to three (3) days to be used for the teacher's educational-professional business. These days shall be non-accumulative. Professional business days may be used for any educational purpose that benefits the school system. The teacher planning to use a professional business day shall make a written request to his/her Principal at least one (1) week in advance of the desired time off. Professional business days shall be used for the purpose of: (1) visitation to view other instructional techniques or programs, (2) conferences, workshops, or seminars, in the teacher's field or regarding education methods in general. The teacher may be requested to file a written report, within one (1) week of his/her attendance at such visitation, conference, workshop, or seminar. All such leaves identified in this paragraph are subject to administrative approval.
Professional Business. The Superintendent or his designated agent may, at his discretion, approve administrative leave time for professional improvement. The request and response will be in writing if the absence is more than one day.
Professional Business. The Superintendent may grant permission to any employee to be absent from school with full pay for any professional activity which the Superintendent deems beneficial to the school system, providing such absence is arranged for and approved in advance. This shall specifically include absence for visitation and observation in other school districts.
a. Any expense incurred in attending meetings, workshops, conferences, etc., may be reimbursed only when the Superintendent has granted approval in advance and the employee will be reimbursed in compliance with the regulations established by the Department of Education.

Professional business days shall be used for the purpose of , 1) visitation to view other instructional techniques or programs, 2) conferences, workshops, or seminars conducted by colleges, universities and the Michigan and National Education Associations and/or affiliate departments thereof. The teacher may be requested to file a written report, within one week of his attendance at such visitation, conference, workshop, or seminar.
Professional Business. Any day on which an employee is absent, and he/she is engaged in professional business as an observer or participant under the direction of the Board of Education, shall not be regarded as an absence, provided such business has been cleared through the Superintendent's office.
Professional Business. A. Absences to attend professional conferences, workshops, critiques, conventions, and visitation to other school districts may be allowed with full pay subject to approval by the Superintendent or his designee. For such professional business, the Board shall reimburse approved registration fees; meals and lodging in accordance with N.J.S.A. 18A;11-12, N.J.A.C. 6A:23A-7.1 et seq., the State's regulations regarding travel covered under Circular Letter 08-13-OMB, and any subsequent circular letter which may be issued by the State Office Management and Budget; and the approved IRS mileage rate or the current statutorily regulated calculation, in effect as of January 1 of each year, at a maximum of six hundred (600) miles for transportation for such professional business (unless specifically extended by the Board). Any transportation expenses in excess of the approved amount shall not be reimbursed. An itemized list of proposed expenditures shall be submitted to the Superintendent with the request for permission to use a professional day. All such requests must be submitted at least two weeks in advance of the date(s) required, but no later than three (3) days before the date of the Board meeting.
Professional Business. Two (2) days per year for approved visitation at other schools or for attending education conferences or conventions, including Association meetings. Additional days may be granted at the discretion of the Superintendent. Requests for leave under this section must be made to the Superintendent or designee at least two (2) weeks in advance. The granting of such days shall not be deemed precedent setting. The denial of such days shall be at the discretion of the Superintendent.
Professional Business. Custodians will be reimbursed upon the successful completion of courses approved by the Board of Education.
