Procedural Rules. 1. Time limits provided for in this Article may be extended by written mutual agreement of the parties at the level involved. 2. Where individual grievances concerning the same matter are filed by several grievants, it shall be the option of University Hospital to consolidate such grievances for hearing as a group grievance provided the time limitations expressed elsewhere herein are understood to remain unaffected. 3. If, at any Step in the grievance procedure, University Hospital's decision is not appealed within the appropriate prescribed time, such grievance will be considered closed and there shall be no further appeal or review. 4. Retroactivity for the correction of payroll errors shall not exceed two (2) years. 5. No adjustment of any grievance shall impose retroactivity beyond the date on which the grievance was initiated or the twenty-one (21) day period prior to the initiation of the grievance unless; (a) otherwise mutually agreed to in writing by both parties; or (b) CIR was unaware of the alleged violation and could not have reasonably been aware of the alleged violation upon which the grievance is based.
