Private Foundations. Every organization that qualifies for tax-exempt status under Section 501(c)(3) is classified as a private foundation unless it meets one of the exceptions listed in Section 509(a). Private foundations typically have a single major source of funding (usually gifts from one family or corporation rather than funding from many sources) and most have as their primary activity the making of grants to other charitable organizations and to individuals, rather than the direct operation of charitable programs. • Political Organizations A political organization subject to Section 527 is a party, committee, association, fund or other organization (whether or not incorporated) organized and operated primarily for the purpose of directly or indirectly accepting contributions or making expenditures, or both, for an exempt function. • Other Nonprofits Organizations that meet specified requirements may qualify for exemption under subsections other than 501(c)(3). These include social welfare organizations, civic leagues, social clubs, labor organizations and business leagues. Private Foundations. In the event it is determined by the Treasury Department that the Grantee is a private foundation, as distinguished from a public charity, or if in fact the Grantee is a private foundation, the undersigned Grantee agrees that any funds given to it by the Foundation will be completely expended for charitable purposes, during the calendar year in which the donation was made to it by the Foundation, or within 2-1/2 months after the end of such year. If said funds are not fully expended for said purposes within the time limits described above, Grantee agrees to refund and pay to the Foundation all funds received by Grantee from the Foundation which were not expended within said time limits.

AS AGENT FOR BUYER/TENANT: The broker becomes the buyer/tenant's agent by agreeing to represent the buyer, usually through a written representation agreement. A buyer's agent must perform the broker’s minimum duties above and must inform the buyer of any material information about the property or transaction known by the agent, including information disclosed to the agent by the seller or seller’s agent.

  • Outside Activities of the Limited Partners Subject to the provisions of Section 7.5, which shall continue to be applicable to the Persons referred to therein, regardless of whether such Persons shall also be Limited Partners, any Limited Partner shall be entitled to and may have business interests and engage in business activities in addition to those relating to the Partnership, including business interests and activities in direct competition with the Partnership Group. An individual who is a resident of a Contracting State immediately before making a visit to the other Contracting State, and who, at the invitation of any university, college, school or other similar educational institution, visits that other State for a period not exceeding two years solely for the purpose of teaching or research or both at such educational institution shall be exempt from tax in that other State on any remuneration for such teaching or research.

  • University Any notice may be served upon the University by delivering it, in writing, to the University at the address set forth on the last page of this Agreement, by depositing it in a United States Postal Service deposit box with the postage fully prepaid and with the notice addressed to the University at the aforementioned address, or by sending a facsimile of it to the University facsimile number set forth on the last page of this Agreement.

  • Principal Investigator The Research will be supervised by __________________ ("Principal Investigator"). If for any reason the individual is unable to continue to serve as Principal Investigator and a successor acceptable to both the University and the Sponsor is not available, this agreement shall be terminated as provided in Article 9. The Principal Investigator may work with others at the University (“Associates”) in conducting the Research.
