The materials and proportions used in making preliminary tests shall be similar in all respects to those to be actually employed in the works as the object of these tests is to determine the properties of cement, aggregates and water necessary to produce concrete of required consistency and to give the specified strength. It will be Contractor's sole responsibility to carry out these tests and he shall therefore furnish to Engineer a statement of proportions proposed to be used for the various concrete mixes.
