Preceptor Pay. A nurse assigned by the Medical Center to mentor new nursing department nurses, RN and LPN students (but not including students whose instructors are present at the facility) and surgical scrub technicians under the Medical Center’s preceptor program shall receive $1.35 per hour in addition to the nurse’s regular rate of pay for each hour worked while performing in this role. The Medical Center will select preceptors based on clinical skills, experience, communication skills and teaching skills. Nurses may be required to attend an approved preceptor class in order to qualify for preceptor pay.
