POLICY TERMINATION. If the Policy is terminated by death, lapse, surrender or otherwise, the reinsurance will terminate on the same date. If premiums have been paid on the reinsurance for a period beyond the termination date, refunds will follow the terms as shown in Schedule I. If the Policy continues in force without payment of premium during any days of grace pending its surrender, whether such continuance be as a result of a Policy provision or a practice of the Ceding Company, the reinsurance will also continue without payment of premium and will terminate on the same date as the Ceding Company’s risk terminates. If the Policy continues in force because of the operation of an Automatic Premium Loan provision, or other such provision by which the Ceding Company receives compensation for its risk, then the reinsurance will also continue and the Ceding Company will pay the Reinsurer the reinsurance premium for the period to the date of termination.
POLICY TERMINATION. This Policy shall be terminated in any one of the following circumstances:

Either We or the Policyholder may terminate this Policy upon giving at least 31 days written notice to the other. We will not terminate this Policy prior to the end of the first year following the Policy Effective Date. Clerical Error. Clerical error will not void any certificate issued under this Policy which is otherwise validly in force, nor will it keep in force any certificate that otherwise would end.

If the policy terminates for this reason, we will refund any premium paid for the period beyond the date the policy terminates; • the date you Recover from your Disability covered by the Renewal Option, if the policy is continued under that Option; • the date the policy terminates under the Suspension During Military Service provision; or • the date of your death. After we receive notice of your death, we will refund to the Owner or the Owner’s estate any premium paid for the period beyond the date of death. ICC17-B180(07/17) Page 15 If you’re still working 30 or more hours a week after this policy’s termination date, you can request to continue total disability coverage under this renewal option. If you renew your policy after the termination date, you can receive benefits for up to two years if you become totally disabled before age 75. If your total disability begins after age 75, the maximum benefit period is one year. In addition, the Owner may terminate this policy by sending us a written request. Such termination will be effective on the date the request is received at our Home Office, or on the date the Owner requests, subject to our approval. We will refund any premium paid for the period beyond the effective date of the termination.
