Plant Operations. Division personnel who work on a Designated Holiday or whose scheduled day off falls on a Designated Holiday will be paid at the straight time rate for eight (8) hours as holiday pay or may, at the employee's option, receive instead another day off with pay in lieu of the holiday. A lieu day shall be taken at a time mutually satisfactory to the employee and the Region, but where no mutual agreement can be reached, the scheduling of the lieu day shall be at the discretion of the Department Head or his delegate.

The parties agree to an ad hoc committee made up of three (3) members selected by the Union from the work groups employed in Plant Operations and members of CUPE L793 plus an Executive Officer or designate as assigned by the Union. Management will assign three (3) members to the ad hoc committee as selected by the Executive Director of Facilities. The purpose of this committee will be to investigate and address concerns unique to Plant Operations. Both parties agree to provide relevant and appropriate information to this committee. LETTER OF UNDERSTANDING # 2 – VACATION EXCHANGE PROGRAM Between C.U.P.E. Local 793, C.L.C. and the University of Waterloo. The employer shall grant all employees covered by the collective agreement, the right to exchange one week of yearly vacation for a two percent (2%) salary increase. The right can be exercised in the last three (3) years before an employee’s normal or agreed upon retirement date. The latest date for indicating this exchange is April 30, 2027, covering retirements on or before May 1, 2030.

Processor reserves the right temporarily to suspend, alter, or modify its Facilities operations at any time and from time to time for any reason without liability or obligation to Supplier, subject to Section 5.1(c). However, Processor will operate the Facilities as a prudent operator; including, but not limited to preventive maintenance and promptly making needed repairs.
