Planning and Design Clause Samples
The Planning and Design clause outlines the responsibilities and procedures for preparing and approving project plans and designs before work begins. Typically, it requires one party—often the contractor or consultant—to develop detailed plans, drawings, or specifications, which must then be reviewed and approved by the client or relevant authority. This clause ensures that all parties have a clear, agreed-upon roadmap for the project's execution, minimizing misunderstandings and reducing the risk of costly changes or delays during construction or implementation.
Planning and Design. The Department shall prepare the environmental and/or planning document, and obtain any environmental permits needed to construct the Project, and prepare the Project plans and specifications needed to construct the Project. All work shall be done in accordance with departmental standards, specifications, policies and procedures.
Planning and Design. Upon SFPUC’s receipt of all required documentation set forth in the chart below, the SFPUC will disburse up to $XXX solely for planning and design (pre-construction) activities. Approval of funding for planning and design activities for the Project does not constitute a project under the California Environmental Quality Act (“CEQA”) Guidelines section 15378.
Planning and Design. Significant planning and design work has already taken place, but will continue into 2018, even as implementation is underway. Early in Year 5, the RedLEI Director carried out numerous trips to work with the UVG/RedLEI team and meet with potential founding member organizations who will join RedLEI in its initial phase. During early 2018, the UVG ▇▇▇▇▇▇ will officially invite local education experts with experience in education policy, research, and project implementation to the RedLEI Advisory Committee. This group will provide strategic guidance and feedback to RedLEI’s overall direction, and sustainability plan beyond the life of the LRCP. RedLEI personnel will, in early 2018, refine and finalize the theoretical framework for RedLEI, as well as the organizational model and information on founding members in participating counties and the rationale for each. By the end of March the team anticipates having established agreements with these founding members. The RedLEI team will also have regular meetings for planning and discussion with USAID. Additionally, during the same week as the LRCP partners meeting in Guatemala in March of 2018, the RedLEI team and LRCP core team will have a workshop together to ensure that RedLEI technical planning and work is informed by LRCP work to date, and similarly, that LRCP complements the work of RedLEI. While this is an ongoing process that started in Year 3, this will be the first chance for the full RedLEI team and full LRCP core team to discuss in person and in detail.

Planning and Design. The goal of this task is to develop engineering and design plans for the construction of at least 12 dual-port Level 2 chargers among two sites in Mendocino County. • Hold a planning and design kickoff meeting for the Yokayo Social Services Complex and County Administration Center • Conduct preliminary site engineering including records research, field review, and land survey for both sites • Coordinate with local utilities to verify the electrical capacity of both sites • Create an engineering and design plan for each site which includes but is not limited to: o Technical specification for EVCS (i.e., cutsheets of EVCS) o Location of EVCS o Wiring and conduit o Single line drawings (including existing site voltage and amperage) o Load calculations (existing + new = total load) o Signage as required by the National Electric Code (NEC) and Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) o Work required to install the chargers o Construction Contract • Submit the final version of the engineering and design plan to CAM for each site • Yokayo Engineering and Design Plan • Administration Center Engineering and Design Plan
Planning and Design. There were only a few site issues that had to be dealt with during the construction process. Soil contamination due to an underground oil storage tank was remediated. Construction workers blasted through layers of rock to construct the underground parking garage. Finally, significant retaining walls were necessary on the north side of the school’s playing fields and between the properties to the east behind the apartments.
Planning and Design a. The Developer shall contract directly with the Department’s engineering consultant for Project, WSP of North Carolina P.C. (“Engineer”), to produce Utility Plans to obtain all necessary and applicable permits for the Developer Funded Improvements in the Project. Developer will obtain a rough estimate for the Developer Funded Improvements from Engineer with production of Utility Plans
b. The Municipality and the Developer shall coordinate with the Department to cause the Department to include the Developer Funded Improvements to be included in the Project.
Planning and Design. The design of East Rail Extensions shall be based upon the Corporation's forecast of patronage of, and demand for, East Rail Extensions. The Corporation undertakes that, in the course of such forecasting, it will consult and liaise with Government with the intention of agreeing with Government a set of parameters of such forecasting of patronage of, and demand for, East Rail Extensions.
Planning and Design a) Project planning generally consists of:
i) Determining how to plan (e.g. by level of detail),
ii) Developing the scope of work,
iii) Selecting the planning team,
iv) Identifying deliverables and creating the work breakdown structure,
v) Identifying the activities needed to complete those deliverables and networking the activities in their logical sequence, vi) Estimating the resource requirements for the activities,
Planning and Design. The Department shall, without expense to the Municipality, develop the landscape design and prepare the landscape plans and specifications in accordance with the Department's standard landscaping polices and procedures for highways. The landscape plans must be approved by the Department and the Municipality before planting. Planting will be accomplished upon completion of the construction contract and at the allowable percentage of the final estimate or an estimated cost of $156,222 for Project 33070.3.2 (B-3450/U-4012). Planting will be accomplished upon completion of the construction contract and at the allowable percentage of the final estimate or an estimated cost of $15,623 for Project 35010.3.2 (U-4009).
