Common use of Personal Leave of Absence Clause in Contracts

Personal Leave of Absence. A leave of absence up to thirty (30) days shall be granted to an employee who has had one (1) year of con­ tinuous service for reasonable personal reasons but not for the purpose of engaging in gainful employment elsewhere. Any such employee desiring a leave of absence shall secure written permission from the Employer with a copy to the Union, the length of absence to be agreed upon by the Employer and employee. The length of absence shall be commensurate with the need.
