Related to PERSONAL DISABILITY LEAVE IN CONJUNCTION WITH SDI
Pregnancy Disability Leave Pregnancy Disability leave may be granted to full-time faculty under the following rules and regulations:
Disability Leave Disability leave may be a combination of the employee’s accrued sick leave, vacation leave, personal holiday, compensatory time, and/or leave without pay, the combination of which may be determined by the employee. If disability leave is taken as leave without pay, the employee may apply eight (8) hours of accrued paid leave per month during the nine (9) months of disability leave to provide for continuation of employer paid health benefits. The interspersed paid leave will be applied to the first working day of the month. Periods of disability leave covered by the FMLA shall be deducted from the nine (9) month period of eligibility to intersperse paid leave.
Permanent Disability Executive’s “Permanent Disability” shall be deemed to have occurred if Executive shall become physically or mentally incapacitated or disabled or otherwise unable fully to discharge his or her duties hereunder for a period of ninety (90) consecutive calendar days or for one hundred twenty (120) calendar days in any one hundred eighty (180) calendar-day period. The existence of Executive’s Permanent Disability shall be determined by the Company on the advice of a physician chosen by the Company and the Company reserves the right to have the Executive examined by a physician chosen by the Company at the Company’s expense.
